A winning combination

Thankful Thursday and Black Friday have come and gone. Cyber Monday is wrapping up and tomorrow it is all wrapped up like a gift with  #GivingTuesday.

#GivingTuesday is a day dedicated to giving. Have you found where you might give? No? Well, have a got the place for you.

Girls on the Run is just the kinda place you can’t resist. Over the course of 10 weeks our curriculum designed for 3rd – 8th graders covers lessons that encourages positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. The leave the program with important strategies and skills to help them navigate life. If that doesn’t get you right there, then let me just show you a few faces that will get you hook, line, and sinker.

GOTR Fall 2013

These are the faces of some of the girls that I have had the sweet privilege of getting to know in #GOTR. Each one of these girls has touched my life in a remarkable way.

It costs  $160 per girl and over 60% of our girls receive some kind of scholarship. This is where you come in, peeps. By clicking the link, you can make a monetary donation to help offset some of these costs –> DONATE HERE.

You know what else? Money isn’t the only thing we have to give. Want to give a little time and service? #GOTR has the chance for that too. Everything from Coaching a team to being a running buddy at our end of season 5K. Learn more about volunteer opportunities here, –> VOLUNTEER HERE.

Our San Antonio groups are currently wrapping up the season and preparing for our end of season 5K. Each girl is paired with a running buddy whose sole job is to ensure each girl gets across the finish line. Encouraging each of these girls to accomplish their individual goals has to be one of THE most inspiring things I have ever done. Want to be inspired too? Come out to our race on December 14th. Details can be found here. GOTR 5K–> REGISTER HERE.

Still not convinced? Check this out. Girls On The Run of Bexar County | Spring 2013 5K from Ragan Patterson Studios on Vimeo.

#GivingTuesday and #GOTR are a great combination! Add your donation to the mix and everyone’s a winner!

  1. […] If you missed this post, I have signed up with the SoleMate charity running program that supports Girls on the Run. My goal is to raise $500.00 before the Shiner Beer Half Marathon in November and I need your help. Any little bit of change you can drop into this bucket will be much appreciated and a definite encouragement to my training. If you don’t already know me and my love for  Girls on the Run you can read more about it here, here, and here. […]
